  • he's here!!!

    He's here! Finally!

Owen Davis (last name omitted for his privacy of course)

8 lbs. 6 oz. and 22 inches long

    born April 13th, 2009 @ 10 p.m. exactly

It was a very very long day. I was induced at 7:30 a.m., and then he never descended more than 3 cm. So I ended up going in for a c-section around 9:30 - and wal-lah - baby Owen has arrived. The c-section was a good thing though- the cord had been wrapped around his neck twice, so there is a reason for everything!

It's a feeling I could never put into words. I've never felt a love like this. And I don't even remember what life was like before. He's a perfect baby too! He's not a screamer, and he's so good. He only gets up once at night, and breast feeds really well. He hasn't caused me anything painful during breastfeeding.

I'm so blessed and lucky!!! If you have any questions about delivery or anything just ask you preggo girls. I'll save you the horrific stuff, but I won't sugar coat it either. You need the truth in a time like this!

So onto what this blog was really about ....

When I went into delivery I weighed 257 lbs. WHOA! My highest weight ever! But hey - I was 9 months preggers. So today - a month later I weigh 229.5 - pretty good for a month. And so we start the weight loss process all over again. Wish me luck!

Remember when I list my food and excercise, that I am a new mom - and a breastfeeding one at that. So things will look a little funny, and maybe not so great some days, but I am trying!

    B- Special K Blueberry w/ 2% milk

L- 1/2 steamfresh garlic shrimp & pasta, Fruit Chiller (frozen fruit sorbet only 55cal!)

S- apple, 3 cubes of mild cheddar

D- big green salad, 2 boiled eggs, ranch dressing

Exercise - 1 mile walk with little guy strapped to me in the snuggli

p.s. I tried my best to get pictures uploaded but it just wouldn't work...go on over to myspace and friend me to see pics www.myspace.com/mndydawn

  • L is for Loser

I can't decide which is the biggest loser...me or the dial-up connection. I have been so totally slacking on writing a post. Gee, almost for 3 or 4 months now! The dial-up isn't so bad, but I have to go over to my mothers to even use dial up, on her ancient computer. So that makes it even worse. Her house is virtually an epicenter for the entire family also, so then I end up having to disconnect a billion times to take phone calls. So in my state of 3rd trimester impatience, I just haven't taken the time to sit down and blog....and I apologize for that. I think about all of you all the time. I'm just a total slacker lately when it comes to these things.

So quick update, cause I'm gonna catch up and read all your blogs, BABY is on it's way. 4 weeks to go!! OMG!! And could be less than that. Dr. Samuel says that he's going to be a big a baby, possibly 9.5 at full term. They may decide at my 38 week appt. to take him early. And I say - "Let's do it!!" I'm so ready for him to come home and play with me, to snuggle and cuddle and love. Owen is my best friend already! haha!

I'm going to run and catch up on everyone. My very last day at work was last week, so hopefully I can commit to reading and writing until he comes! My hubby promises that we can get this fabulous dial-up connection at home on our new computer after Owen is born, so that I can blog with you gals about weight loss again since it was my entire reason for losing weight last time.

I have missed you guys so much!

  • technically...

I am employeed. But I only work one day a week. So my house should be clean, my tax stuff should be in order, and I should be like Betty Crocker or something. Why is it that I find myself watching TV all day, and not even showering until 3 or 4?

Naomi was talking about getting out of a routine, and surely I have. Tomorrow I am going to call about taking a tour of the Aesthetics school I want to go to. Maybe that will help get me motivated. It's so easy to be lazy when you have nothing to do. When I was working at the bank, I worked there & my jewelry business both 24/7. Now that I have more time to work my jewelry business I don't work it at all. How is this possible? I keep putting stuff off until tomorrow, problem is, tomorrow leads into about 2 weeks!

Hubby & I went to pick up my pathetic paycheck today at the Crack House, I mean Cracker Barrel. And I said that we should have goals and make a plan. This year will be our 5th wedding anniversary. So for the next 5 years here are my goals.

    1. Tighten up our budget like I should have a long time ago.

    2. Go on a real honeymoon for our 10th wedding anniversary, preferably at a Sandal's resort.

    3. Have a successful career in the Aesthetics field.

    4. Have plans to build our own home, for our 10th anniversary also.

    5. Oh yeah, have a perfect little happy son. Because in 5 years he won't be a baby anymore! ahhhh! that's so sad already!

So there's my goals for the next 5 years. Not to mention the whole lose weight get healthy thing. On this 10th anniversary hoorah I hope to be so smoking hot we walk away expecting the next member of our family! haha!

  • why doesn't someone finish of the fudge already???!!

So I just went to peek and see if it was still here at my mom's. And it is. My goodness why hasn't someone eaten it's peanut-buttery sexy self yet?!!! WHY?!!! My family is out to get me I swear, it's like sabotage. I want to eat it so bad. I think I will. Better for me to eat it all now right, than to eat it over the next few days? Wait-that's not exactly rational thinking. But Owen definitely wants to eat it, I'm sure.

Anyway - speaking of Owen - I believe I will be giving birth to a UFC champion. At around 6 this morning my husband left for work, and I laid back down to sleep til around 9 or so like a lazy bones. At which point I came to the conclusion my sweet baby boy was practicing for a cage match in my belly. He surely will Kung-Fu his way out of my womb. A lot of the times he balls up (like right now) under my belly button, and I have dreams of him kicking his way out of it! haha!

I wanted to say many thanks to all you awesome ladies that welcomed me back. Xanga has been such a rock for me, both through weight loss and every other little thing in my life the past two years. I love it and you!

I'm going to sneak off and eat this fudge now. Don't judge me.

    ur pretty

Losing It!

June - 223 Photobucket July - 208 Photobucket August - 201 Photobucket

Super sweet things people have said to me since I started dieting in May!

" I know I keep staring at you, but you are so very attractive." - Lady who sold the designer purses at this 'purse party' I went to. "Girl! You are looking GOOD!" - sweet little Nell that works down the cube farm from me "You look good. You've lost some weight!" -my friend Angie as she lay in the hospital bed after labor! haha

About Me

  • I originally started Xanga for weight loss support. And found myself a year later almost 30 lbs lighter and pregnant! I'm married to my best friend, and we're expecting our first in April '09!
